AC repair cost depends on the fault, parts, labor, refrigerant work, equipment access and whether more than one problem is present. A thermostat setting and a failed compressor can both produce a no-cooling complaint but have very different scopes. HECO begins with diagnosis, explains what was found and presents the proposed work before an approved repair moves forward. Ask about the diagnostic charge when scheduling. An exact price cannot be responsibly determined from the symptom alone.

What do you need help understanding?
Start with a symptom
Search what you observe—not what you think the failed part is. Several HVAC faults can produce the same symptom, and an on-site diagnosis is often needed before choosing a repair.

Clear filtersSame-day requests are welcome, but submitting a request does not guarantee availability or confirm an appointment. HECO schedules service daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and will contact you to confirm the date and arrival window. Calling (916) 813-2766 is the fastest way to discuss a time-sensitive cooling problem. For fire, a suspected gas leak, a carbon-monoxide alarm or immediate danger, leave the area and contact the appropriate emergency authority rather than using the online form.
Start by confirming the thermostat is set to Cool, the temperature setting is below the room temperature and the air filter is not visibly blocked. Warm air can also result from an outdoor unit that is not operating, electrical or control faults, restricted airflow, dirty coils, refrigerant problems or component failure. Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that trips. Because several faults create the same symptom, testing the system is safer than replacing parts based only on a guess.
Turn cooling off to prevent continued ice buildup and check whether the filter is heavily restricted. Keep the fan setting only as recommended for your equipment and protect the property from water as the ice melts. Do not chip ice from the coil or continue operating the system while frozen. Low airflow, blower problems, coil condition and refrigeration issues can all contribute. The system must thaw before some diagnostic measurements can be completed.
Cooling systems remove moisture from indoor air, and that water normally leaves through the condensate drain. A blocked drain, damaged pan, pump problem, frozen coil or installation issue can cause water to appear around the indoor equipment. Turn the system off if water threatens ceilings, flooring, electrical components or other property. A technician should identify both the water source and the condition that caused it rather than only removing visible water.

Equipment condition still requires professional evaluation. For regulations, rebates and efficiency guidance, HECO checks authoritative sources and identifies items that can change.
